God & Monsters

Gods & Monsters is a new self-contained aesthetic universe and interiors brand combining ancient mythology, obscure mystical symbolism, heraldry as well as contemporary pop art techniques and printmaking. It is a bold celebration of illustration, decorative symbolism and colour. As an artist I am always seeking to push against convention and challenge notions of beauty and style. I believe art and design can be beautiful, subtle and comforting but also experimental and subversive. Gods & Monsters pushes against familiar ideas of good taste, while challenging the conventions we are used to seeing in art and interiors. My recent exhibition and private view at the Saan 1 Gallery in Manchester marked the beginning of an exciting process of experimentation and discovery. Gods & Monsters is as brash and bombastic as the name suggests, with spectacularly vibrant florals clashing with rampant dragons and vainglorious heraldry adorning everything from canvases and wallpapers to rugs and curtains. Going forward, Gods & Monsters will continue to evolve and adapt as a brand showcasing bold design and innovative ideas in art and design.
